KITCO Fiber Optics recently received approval from NAVSEA
Dahlgren for a 6mm new mandrel that conforms to MIL-STD-2042 re-
quirements. Our mandrel (0705-5681) meets MIL-STD-2042-6C Method
6K1 (Cable Assembly Return Loss Test) and Method 6L1 (Cable Topol-
ogy End-to-End Return Loss Test) requirements while the mandrel
provided with other testers is ~8mm; not the required 6mm.
